Sandell is fighting for the world title in Rally GB!
National team driver Patrik Sandell whit codriver Emil Axelsson have had a incredible great first season in this Junior World Rally Championship. One victory, two second places is the key so far.
Now remain just one competition, Wales Rally GB in England, 1-3 December.
Patrik and Emil is on a third place before the Rally just two points after leading Urmo Aava from Estonia. On the second place we find PG Andersson also from the Swedish national team, only one point before Patrik and Emil.
-Yes, the season have been just like a fairytale, it begun unbelievable good then we had some misfortune in Turkey, but nothing who´s bother me now before the final in England.
I know that it´s the first year for us and first time in England. But it also have been my strongest side this year to be a first year driver. I´ve been able to drive whitout pressure, says Patrik.
The goal whit the season was to collect som experience, is it different to the final?
-Yes, we have started in every competition whit the goal to rich the finishline, and we have. But in England I´ll drive for victory.
Does it mean that you will be the fastest driver on the first stage?
-I have my own strategy and plan for Rally GB. I know I can win and I will try to do it my way. To be fastest on the first stage is not in my plan. It´s not possible to score points before you cross the finish line, ends Patrik
