The reigning Junior World Rally Champion Patrik Sandell had a tough start to the new season. His brand new Renault Clio R3 showed up just minutes before Rally Norway – the first round of this years season.
Despite having no time for testing the new car he and his codriver Emil Axelsson managed to salvage a second place and eight important points in the championship.
This week they finally got the the opportunity to test their setups and improve the car. After two days of testing outside of Montpellier in the South of France Sandells sounds happy with just about everything – even the weather
“We have tested and improved most of the things we had on our list. I’m really happy with both the new car and the way Renault Sport and the team works. Even the weather was perfect, with one day of sunshine and one day of heavy rains, which gave us the opportunity to try setups for both conditions” Sandell says.
The second round of the championship is Rally Portugal, March 30th to April 1st.
