In May this year Patrik Sandell made an entry in the Norwegian rally championship. That time Sandell and his Co Driver Emil Axelsson was driving in Group-N in Rally Sörland. They went home as winners at that time. Now it’s time again.
Rally Tröndelag is the sixth part competition in the Norwegian Championship. It’s a one day race with a summary of 120 kilometers SS. That’s corresponding the tempo of the JWRC- competitions they normally drives, which is one of the reasons they has chosen to compete in Norway.
- Sure it would be a lot of fun to win, and of course it’s what we are aiming for, but the main thing it’s about loading up for Rally Finland. Both Trondheim and Jyväskylä, where the Finish rally takes place, are at the same broad grade, so it’s almost the same roads and foundation, Says Sandell.
- Another reason why we are going to Norway is to have dun. I’ve driven this competition before, and its one of my favorites. Besides it’s going to be a lot of fun to drive against some friends who I haven’t competed against in many years, as Jocke Nyman for example, says Patrik.
Like last time in Norway, Patrik has loaned the Norwegian Petter Fauskos Clio Group N car, the same type of car as they won the JSM and SM a couple years ago.
Rally Finland goes the 2-5th August.
