It’s not often Patrik Sandell have the chance to compete in his hometown. But this weekend it’s time for that in Jämtrallyt. A competition that arranges by the club Patrik is driving for, Jämtlands MK. As usual he has Emil Axelsson on his right side, and like last weekend they will drive a Renault Clio Ragnotti.
How do you feel for the weekend?
- It will be fun to drive in for my home public. It’s always a special feeling when I drive in Jämtland, where I once learned the hard rules about how rally goes. I did some crashes in the beginning of my carrier, when I thought I was immortal, says Patrik.
- Competitions at home are always special. You really want to show your best side and drive with maximum attack, and it’s easy to make a mistake. But both me and Patrik are very focused and loaded, so it won’t be any problem, says Emil.
And this weekend – another victory or crash?
- Of course we’re driving for victory, but there are people who will do it hard for us. Neither Joakim Nyman nor Jonas Wigren will give up easily. It’s a short rally, so it’s full attack from the first metre, says Patrik.
Last weekend, when the internal competition against Joakim Nyman began, Patrik won with 1-0. On Saturday afternoon we’ll know if Sandell/Axelsson won with 2-0 or if it’s even, 1-1.
The competition is 60 km long and contains 6 SS which are in the forests around Östersund.
