Patrik Sandell and Emil Axelsson showed this weekend that they have learned something during the last years in JVM. They won 5 of 6 SS and were the fastest car in the 2wd class. But despite that they didn’t won. The car didn’t start after a service due to a technical problem. That made the guys late to a time control and they got 60 seconds penalty time. Patrik and Emil went down to a second place, only 22,8 seconds after the winner – Jimmy Olsson, Storfors MK. The third place was taken by Jonas Wigren, Norrköpings MK.
- The driving was good this weekend. The Renault Clio is a very good car. When you get the speed up it’s only to keep it - and that’s what we have done this weekend, says Patrik.
Like last weekend they had borrowed the Airsped-Clio from Petter Fausko from Norway. You can obviously still drive fast with the older group N car. Reports from spectators on the stages, says it’s been very offensive driving, where Patrik and Emil have had their own lines on the roads compared to the opponents.
- I can feel that we better now. We dare to drive in other lines and keep the speed in a different way than before. But we did have some moments during the competition. Most exciting was when we drove on two wheels between two trees, and landed beside the road. But it was only to put in a gear and keep driving, laugh’s Emil.
Next competition is Neste Rally Finland, 3th-5th august.
